📦 How to make AI product photos

Studio product photography used to mean booking a shoot. Today an edit model and a single iPhone snap can ship a clean catalog in an afternoon.

Start with one clean reference

Take any decent photo of the product on a neutral surface, evenly lit. The AI inherits the geometry and material from this shot — sharp focus on the silhouette matters more than perfect lighting.

Use an edit model, not text-to-image

Edit models (Flux Kontext, Nano Banana edit, Seedream 4.5 edit) keep your exact product and only change the environment, lighting and surface. Pure text-to-image will invent a new bottle, sneaker or chair every time.

Prompt the SET, not the product

'Place the product on a polished travertine plinth, soft side light from a 4×6 silk, warm tungsten kicker, shallow depth of field, editorial commercial photography, Vogue beauty style.' The product stays — only the world around it changes.

Generate a series with one seed

Lock the seed and swap one element per shot: surface, palette, light direction. You get a coherent campaign that looks shot on the same set, not a chaotic mix.
