The speed and cost story
Seedance 2.0 Fast generates a 5-second 720p clip in around 35-40 seconds on aggregator infrastructure at roughly $0.12. That's a fifth of the cost and a third of the latency of the flagships. For iteration, this is the model that pays for itself in the first ten rolls.
Where the quality now lands
Silent B-roll, product loops, atmosphere shots, stylised motion — Seedance 2.0 is competitive with Kling 2.5 in blind pairs. It trails on complex human motion and any shot needing precise camera choreography.
Image-to-video variant
Seedance 2.0 I2V is the standout. Feed it a locked hero frame and it produces some of the highest-consistency animations of any current model — better temporal stability than Kling on subtle motion, at a third of the cost. This is the current pro pick for ecommerce loops.
Where it isn't the answer
Audio (no native track), dialogue, motion that needs to land on a musical beat, and anything past 8 seconds. For those, generate elsewhere.
The pragmatic role
Seedance is the draft model. It's also the final model for a large slice of ecommerce and social work where the extra spend on Sora or Veo just doesn't show in the delivered pixel. Underrated, underused.
